The Kanga Project

Introducing The Kanga Project. A charity initiative founded by Muna Ally celebrating women with gifts of Kanga in the villages of Zanzibar. Together we have raised enough to gift 2000 individual women. Our initial aim was driven by the need of spreading love and appreciation to the Mamas in Zanzibar. In the four years we’ve been running, our vision has evolved to empower locals, celebrate their cultural heritage through craftsmanship and elevating them through visual media. Volunteering for The Kanga project was definitely one of my best experiences in Zanzibar, i have enjoyed every second of it. You won't believe how a piece of fabric ( Kanga ) could make woman in Zanzibar happy and appreciative, it's unbelievable.
